Alevosía: una pieza hecha por niños…para los adultos (Malice: a theatre piece performed by kids…for adults)

Alevosía: una pieza hecha por niños, para los adultos is an intergenerational project which explores how authoritarian and fundamentalists ideologies and doctrines influence children’s upbringings, particularly regarding their views on nationhood, patriotism and hate speeches. The projects consists of two stages. The first was a one-week R&D in London in 2016, were I worked with three kids, exploring UK media approaches to hate speeches news. The second part was a month long residency at the Diana Culture Centre in Santiago de Chile. The creative adult team worked with six children performers aged between 9 and 13 years old. The residency concluded with a 40 minutes showcase/short play at Diana in January 2017. The short play mixed the children’s own writings, and excerpts of the minutes of the murder trial against Joseph Hall, accused and found guilty of murdering his father, neo-nazi leader Jeff Holmes in California in 2011.
